Chrome to Phone is a result of Google Chrome extension and Android application that allows you to click one button in your browser, and sync what you were viewing right to yourAndroid phone to be check out at a later time. It uses Android’s Cloud to Device Messaging service to send data from Chrome desktop browser to their Android device. Make sure that you own a phone that runs Android 2.2 (“Froyo”) or later.Features of Chrome to Phone for Android 2.2:
- Send links to browser
- Google Maps links launch the Google Maps app.
- Selecting phone numbers in Web pages, launches the dialer with the number pre-populated.
- Selected text populates the Android clipboard
Steps to setup Chrome to Phone on Google Chrome and Firefox :
- Head over to the Google Chrome to Phone Download Site
- Download and install the chrometophone-extension-v0.3.crx file (for Google Chrome) or the following Firefox extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/161941/
- Download and install the chrometophone-android.apk Android application
- Launch the Chrome to Phone application from your Android phone and click the Register Device button
- Launch the Chrome to Phone Chrome Extension in your Chrome browser and enter your Google username and password
