Tablet High On Felt!

The HiLo is quite an interesting concept; it is a 10” OLED Tablet with a wireless felt keyboard. Now the thing about the keyboard is that it’s styled as a jacket to hold the tablet. At the same time it features fused (hot pressed – embedded circuitry) keys on the outside. Naturally, you use the keyboard as desired, however I’m getting a kick out of the casual interaction between the protective jacket and the tablet. It’s just too awesome!

PS Square, the Smart Mobile Device Ideal for Teens.

At first glance this seems like a future Sony PlayStation console, an alternative to the Sony NGP. Created by Hirotaka Matsui, the PS Square is a conceptual smart mobile device that’s oriented towards members of the public who are 12 to 14 years old.

PS Square supports induction charging, Bluetooth, possibly 3G and it embeds a microSD card slot. A QWERTY keyboard and a large (probably OLED) screen are incorporated and the device can connect to the PC and TV with ease, via wireless.
The same concept portable device supports social networking, gaming (as shown by the directional pad) and even school work, if you have time for that. Action keys are present as well and an eReader should be on board, too. It’s hard for me to see teenagers doing homework on this device, since I personally would be tempted to socialize and play games on it, but it’s an incredibly cool gadget, to be honest.

Nokia Facet Concept Comes With a Touchscreen and Tactile Keypad

This Nokia concept phone may look familiar to you, specially because we’ve seen it here a while back, under the name Black Facet. Now, it appears again, dubbed Nokia Facet and this seems to be the work of Knot Design, a cellphone project that provides users with a brand new touch experience.

Nokia Facet uses “facets” that hide a tactile keypad beneath the surface and also give the handset a gem-like look, thanks to the many angles of the geometric surface. Multimedia connectivity is also supported on the Nokia concept and if we were to look for flaws, the device seems a bit too square-ish and short for our taste.
