Viber, the popular free-calling VoIP app on iOS platform is now available for Android phones which is in beta testing phase. Like iPhone app from Android phones you can call and text other Viber users on Android and iOS for free. The best part of this app is that it doesn’t require any login and it automatically checks if your contacts are there on Viber. All these with a native looking UI and features.
As discussed Viber Android app is not yet publicly available in Marketplace and you will have to apply for a beta test invitation to initiate free calls. Apply for an invitation here. Once after you are invited for the party you can install the .apk file on your Android phone. Being a third-party beta app you can install it by following the steps below.
How to download & install Viber Android .apk app:
1. Open your Android device settings and click “Applications”
2. If unchecked, click “Unknown Sources”. If “Unknown sources” is already checked, skip to step 4.
3. Click “OK” on the “Attention” dialog. “Unknown sources” will now have a green check.
4. Download Viber.apk file.
5. Open your notifications or the location where Viber.apk file is stored and click to install.
6. Click “Install” and then click “Open”.
